What were the highlights of the recent edition of Brazilian Gaming Congress?
With the latest legislation taking longer than expected and the recent political turmoil attendees came to understand the revised regulatory timetable following the country´s recent political turmoil. With focus now shifting towards sports betting and casinos delegates also got the opportunity to seek best practice and timelines for investment.
What was the feedback from visitors and participants?
Feedback has been good. Whilst we have not seen any significant movement in the legislation in Brazil we saw some interesting discussions on sports betting looking at its potential economic impact and taxation in the region.
What is the importance of this event in a market like Brazil, soon to be regulated?
We strive to ensure that BgC delivers new information and content to local and international players -bringing them together to facilitate and network. The event is also an opportunity for industry to meet local, international and LATAM executives of gaming.
How many people assisted?
We were delighted by the number who came to the show. We saw over 320 people attend to explore, understand and network amongst senior level decision makers.
Is a new edition of the Brazilian Gaming Congress confirmed for next year?
Yes. But due to the World Cup in Russia we are looking to host the next edition in early May 2018 in Sao Paul once again at The Tivoli Hotel
