IGT presented a diverse set of gaming solutions at G2E
(Las Vegas, SoloAzar Exclusive).- SoloAzar interviewed Marcel Heutmekers, IGT Senior Vice President, Commercial Gaming, Latin America during Global Gaming Expo 2019, held in Las Vegas. “The games, cabinets, systems and solutions we show at G2E represent our commitment to our customers’ continued growth, and reflect our player-centric approach to product development”, he said.
What products are you bringing to exhibit at this new edition of G2E?
At G2E, IGT is presenting a diverse set of gaming solutions designed to drive our customers’ growth. A number of new solutions are being launched at the show, such as PeakBarTop, the new video poker bar top hardware that elevates the player experience with its 23-inch curved display, USB charging ports, enhanced lighting and audio, and more. For North America markets, we are also showing how we have evolved the most successful slot theme of all time, Wheel of Fortune, with new titles on multiple cabinets. Attendees can see how we are strengthening our core video portfolio with new Proven Performer titles such as Lucky Buddha and Hexbreaker 3.
What are the products that stand out for the Latin American market?
For our Latin American customers, we are showcasing the new Cobalt™ 27 cabinet, available with IGT’s library of proven core games and multi-games, including the latest USwitch™ Multi-Game game pack with an enhanced chooser and player-tested content attuned to Latin America markets. Players will be thrilled by this new cabinet’s large screen display, attractive, comfortable design, and our extensive, localized content portfolio. It features two high-definition 27” screens, a 24” video topper, integrated cabinet lighting, and Dynamic Player Panel with dual bash buttons to fit operators’ unique needs and forge new opportunities for their gaming floors. In addition, the advanced ergonomics and a built-in external USB charging port enhance its universal appeal.
In terms of content, the Company is marking the global debut of its compelling new Scarab™ Link. This multi-level progressive builds on the global success of Scarab™ and includes an exciting hold and re-spin bonus feature. Along with Scarab Link, the booth features a vast library of proven IGT game themes with compelling new core video and linked progressive games attuned specifically to Latin American players.
With what expectations do you reach G2E every year and what are the goals?
Our expectations from G2E are straightforward: we want to make the most of the opportunity to demonstrate to our customers how our offering delivers unrivalled gaming experiences to their players. The games, cabinets, systems and solutions we show at G2E represent our commitment to our customers’ continued growth, and reflect our player-centric approach to product development. We’ve applied decades of experience and invested hundreds of staff-hours collecting player insights to ensure that our games will excite players, deliver performance, and drive operational efficiencies. Performance drives growth, and helping our customers achieve growth is IGT’s ultimate objective.
What are the goals of the Company from now until the end of the year?
We will sustain our focus on delivering an outstanding player experience through our innovations across the portfolio. This will include delivering many of the exciting games and solutions that we’re showing at G2E.
Will you be present at other shows?
Yes, IGT has a full agenda of international trade shows for the remainder of year. For example, in the commercial casino segment, the Company is looking forward to the Macau Gaming Show from Nov. 12-14. The South American Gaming Suppliers Expo, or SAGSE, is in Buenos Aires from Nov. 20-22, and G2E Philippines is from Dec. 3-4. We are also beginning to prepare for our presence at the ICE 2020 show at the beginning of the new year.
How does the growth of IGT accompany the evolution of the players?
IGT is committed to providing player-driven performance. We do this by leveraging player insight programs, player focus groups, and internal testing to track the evolution of players’ needs and preferences, and applying that data to our development process to deliver performance-driving games to our customers. This research-based approach is evident at G2E through the appeal of our extensive portfolio of proven content.
Which are the markets in which the firm is more established, and which are the new markets in which it seek to enter?
The North America commercial gaming market is very mature, and we are always working to ensure that our products will help all our customers retain their loyal players while also attracting new player segments.
The recent proliferation of sports betting in North America has created new opportunities for IGT and its customers. We look forward to continuing our momentum in this product segment with our sports betting platform, PlaySport, and our self-service betting solutions such as the IGT PlaySports Kiosk, IGT PlaySports Pad, and the CrystalBetting Terminal.
In the Latin America commercial gaming market, we have leveraged our long-term experience to help our customers grow their operations in countries like Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, and the Caribbean. We are excited about the significant growth potential in these regions, as well future opportunities in nearby countries such as Brazil, where legalized gaming has been on the legislative agenda.
