´SBC proved to be a perfect setting for exhibitors to meet operators from across Latin America´

(Latin America, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Dennis Algreen, Marketing Director, SBC (Sports Betting Community), granted an interview to SoloAzar, in which he talked about the experience of organizing the recently held edition of SBC Digital Summit Latin America. He also anticipated upcoming SBC Digital Summit North America on 14-16 July.

How was the experience of this first edition of SBC Digital Summit Latin America?
It was fantastic. We didn’t really know what to expect, as it was the first time we’d worked in the region, but the event went really well. The audience was very enthusiastic, there were some lively and informative debates in both the conference and the themed networking sessions, and lots of traffic in the exhibition.

What was the feedback about the exhibition and conference?
We’ve had very positive feedback from the suppliers who showcased their products in the exhibition, which proved to be a perfect setting for them to meet operators from across Latin America.

We also had a great response to the conference, both in terms of the relevance of the topics discussed and the quality of the speakers, who included operator CEOs, representatives of FIFA, CONMEBOL and SECAP, and some renowned specialists from suppliers. Delegates who attended the conference sessions told us that they learned things that will be of real value to their businesses.

Have you, as organizers, met expectations?
Yes, we were delighted with how our first ever event dedicated to the LatAm market went. There was exceptional buy-in from both local operators and global players investigating new territories, and also from suppliers looking to target the Latin American market. This helped us to easily exceed our target of 2,000 delegates.

We also learned a lot about the varied requirements of gaming industry executives from the different countries in the region, which we will use to improve and expand our future Latin American events.

Which is the next event of SBC? Please, tell me the date and the main conferences to be held.
Our next big event is SBC Digital Summit North America on 14-16 July. It features a five-track virtual conference, 30-booth interactive exhibition and multiple networking opportunities.

The conference covers the land-based gambling industry, the online betting & gaming sector, sports, innovation, and the regulatory progress towards full legalization of sports betting in the US and Canada.

What do you expect of the next event?
There’s huge interest in the potential of the regulated sports betting markets in the US, so we expect more than 3,000 delegates. We know that around half the audience will be made up of senior staff from North American casinos and sportsbooks, and international sports betting operators, who are all keen to learn more about the best opportunities and how to make the most of them. There will also be a sizeable contingent from the major global suppliers, who have identified SBC Digital Summit North America as a great forum for meeting key decision makers in this exciting new market.

The conference element of the event looks set to be one of the strongest we’ve staged, with senior executives from Penn National Gaming, MGM Resorts, GVC Holdings, Hard Rock International, theScore, Roar Digital, Fifth Street Gaming, Betfred and FanDuel on the roster, along with senior representatives from tribal gaming, state lotteries and major sports, including the NBA and PGA Tour.
