AI: The new ace in the hole for the games of chance industry

(Cartagena, Exclusive SoloAzar).- One of the conferences held within the recent GAT EXPO, brings to the table a topic that is on everyone's lips: Artificial Intelligence (AI). This year, the panel entitled “Artificial Intelligence in the Entertainment Industry” was held with the presence of prominent experts from Latin America.

AI: The new ace in the hole for the games of chance industry

Artificial Intelligence is conditioning the present and shaping the future, and the games of chance industry is taking note of its evolution.

Néstor Cotignola, regulator of Enreja, Argentina, moderated the discussion that included the participation of Nathalie Vélez Ponce, director of Lumo Media Lab Caracol TV, Colombia; Ana María Padrós, from Team Seven, Peru; and Patricio Molloy, LATAM Business Development at WA.Technology, who shared their perspectives on how AI is impacting the sector.

Firstly, the moderator congratulated José Aníbal Aguirre and the team for the 25 th anniversary of GAT EXPO, for their commitment to innovation and excellence. “This birthday is a reflection of their dedication”, he added.

He then mentioned the 73rd Ordinary Assembly of the Asociación de Loterías Estatales Argentinas (ALEA), to be held on the 15th of May in the city of Salta. The event will bring together the authorities of the 24 gambling regulatory bodies in Argentina and the members of ALEA, as well as representatives of the main companies providing the sector, with the objective of addressing central issues on the institutional agenda and strengthening the management of gambling games.



In her turn, Ana María Padrós highlighted three main uses of AI in the gaming industry:

1. Improved User Experience: Similar to personalized recommendations from platforms like Netflix, the AI can adapt purchasing operations to the user's tastes and preferences.

2. Fraud Prevention: The ability of AI to process and analyze large volumes of data allows you to identify entities that could be indicative of fraud.

3. Responsible Play: The IA can offer advice and strategies to promote safe and responsible playing practices.

Patricio Molloy said that AI, despite being constantly learning, becomes increasingly specific and surpasses previous technologies. In everyday  operations, AI can personalize customer experience, manage risks and detect fraud efficiently.

Nathalie Vélez Ponce expanded the conversation to mention the generation of content through AI, including graphics, texts, images, music tools, statistics and news, which opens up a range of creative and operational possibilities.

The panel concluded that AI is not just a new fad, but also a technology that has arrived to enable and transform interaction in the industry. Despite the challenges and fears that it can generate, its potential is vast and its application, multiple.

With events like GAT EXPO, the conversation about these disruptive technologies continues, ensuring that the industry remains at the forefront and is able to adapt to the changing needs of emerging markets and their consumers.
