ASEANAPOL Secretariat Hosts Second Courtesy Meeting with Sportradar

The ASEANAPOL Secretariat hosted its second high-level courtesy meeting with Sportradar on November 28, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The engagement, held with the global leader in sports intelligence, aimed to address the ongoing threat of match-fixing and sports-related corruption across Southeast Asia. The meeting reaffirmed a strong mutual commitment to establishing a formal and sustained collaboration.

The ASEANAPOL delegation was led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Abdul Hamid Abdul Hashim, while Sportradar was represented by Mr. Andreas Krannich, Executive Vice President of Integrity Services, and Ms. Jennifer Mellors, Client Partner & Integrity Solutions Manager for the Southeast Asia region.

DSP Hamid conveyed the enthusiastic and unanimous readiness of law enforcement officers from all 10 ASEAN member states to collaborate fully with Sportradar. He emphasized the significant value such a partnership would bring, as it would provide law enforcement agencies with essential access to Sportradar’s extensive integrity expertise, developed over 25 years. This specialized knowledge is crucial for analyzing sports matches and identifying elements of betting-related manipulation and match-fixing worldwide, offering a vital tool in regional anti-crime efforts.

Mr. Krannich outlined Sportradar’s comprehensive role as a leading sports analytics company, founded in 2001 in Switzerland, that delivers global sports data services and critical integrity solutions. He explained that through strategic growth and major partnerships with leagues such as the NFL and NBA, the company has evolved into a major force in the industry. He also noted that under its Betradar brand, Sportradar leverages vast volumes of sports data to monitor global wagering activity and provides integrity services designed to detect anomalies and suspicious betting patterns linked to match-fixing.

The core discussion concluded with Mr. Krannich formally announcing Sportradar’s intention to establish a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ASEANAPOL, confirming that a Concept Note outlining the details would be submitted promptly. This anticipated agreement is expected to serve as a foundational pillar, delivering substantial and tangible benefits by enhancing regional law enforcement capabilities in the prevention of and support for investigations into complex criminal networks involved in sports manipulation.

ASEANAPOL’s proactive pursuit of this partnership reflects its clear, zero-tolerance stance on integrating advanced analytical expertise to dismantle match-fixing syndicates and safeguard the integrity of sports across Southeast Asia.
