SBC Summit Latinoamérica: WA.Technology presents Flexible iGaming Solutions in an Evolving Market

Introduction

The SBC Summit Latinoamérica 2024 took place in Miami from 29th to 3rd October. The summit brought together industry leaders, operators and suppliers to discuss industry trends and challenges in the region.

During this edition, WA.Technology exhibited its innovative products and services, strengthening its strategic relationships in the Latin American market.

In this exclusive interview with SoloAzar, Patricio Molloy, Business Development Manager Latam at WA.Technology, details his experience during the event, as well as the impact of its flagship product, WA.Fantasy Pick'Em Player Props.  We also discuss strategies adapted to the region's diversity in terms of cultural and regulatory guidelines, and the future of the industry.

Below, we share Patricio Molloy's responses.

Interview

How was the experience during this 2024 edition at SBC Latinoamerica, and what can you highlight from it?

As always, SBC Summit Latinoamerica in Miami is a fantastic event. It’s always a firm staple in the WA.Technology calendar. This year, the event was an excellent opportunity to position WA.Technology among the leaders in our industry!

It’s truly energising to see the level of innovation and commitment in the Latin American market, and this edition did not disappoint. We can’t wait to see how this event grows and evolves when it moves to Fort Lauderdale next year.

While it may not be the largest in terms of size, SBC Summit Latinoamerica is definitely one of the most impactful. It brings together key decision-makers from across the industry, creating a great environment for meaningful discussions and networking. We had a packed schedule with productive meetings, and now that we’re back at the office, we’re diving into a lot of follow-up work.

What were the most innovative iGaming solutions you presented at this edition, and what response did you get from attendees and the public?

It was such a great event that it is hard to narrow it down to just a few highlights! But in Miami this year, we introduced our brand-new WA.Fantasy Pick'Em Player Props which definitely stole the spotlight at our booth.

Of course, we were also busy showcasing our proven platform and casino aggregator, both of which are well-established in the industry. But with much of Latin America being synonymous with sports, it’s safe to say that our WA.Fantasy Pick'Em Player Props was the real showstopper.

Its visually appealing design and engaging mechanics caught everyone’s eye. It’s a great tool for iGaming operators—not just for revenue generation but also for boosting player acquisition and engagement. It's a fun, easy-to-integrate solution that offers a fresh way to engage with players. I truly believe this will be a fantastic tool to help our partners identify new avenues for growth and take their engagement strategy to the next level.

What unique opportunities and trends did you identify, and how do you adapt your services to meet the diverse cultural preferences of the region?

As an industry-leading technology provider, we believe it’s essential to offer highly customised platforms and comprehensive management services to our partners. We strongly believe that operators can achieve greater success when they use a platform that is personalised, localised, and optimised to their specific business needs, giving them the tools to handle the unique challenges of their local markets.

Our solutions are meticulously designed to seamlessly adapt to regional preferences, helping operators stay ahead in a competitive environment. In addition, we maintain close, daily communication with our partners, ensuring that we can fully understand their operational needs and provide ongoing support. By building close relationships with our partners, we are able to share valuable insights and expertise that help them improve performance and allow us to offer a much more curated experience.

As we like to say, we’re not just a technology provider—we aim to be a true strategic partner, helping operators thrive by offering tailored solutions and expert guidance every step of the way.

How does your company address regulatory compliance in the Latam market, especially in emerging countries such as Brazil?

Patricio Molloy: Compliance isn’t just a tick-box; it’s absolutely critical. At WA.Technology, we take regulatory compliance incredibly seriously as it’s crucial in helping our partners expand, which means that it’s central to everything that we do. Our in-house compliance team closely monitors and stays on top of the ever-changing legal landscape across Latin America, ensuring we deliver the best in service for our partners.

Proactivity is vital here. We don’t just wait for operators to ask about regulations—we proactively ensure that all our products and services are fully compliant with the specific rules and requirements of each market. This is essential to helping our partners confidently navigate the region's complexities, knowing that they’re fully aligned with local regulations.

With the continued growth of the online sports betting market in Latin America, what are the main opportunities and challenges operators are facing, according to discussions at the event?

One of the most important takeaways from SBC Summit Latinoamerica is that operators need to think outside the box to establish their position as market leaders. There are still some tried-and-true strategies that work, but this is a time for creativity and bold moves.

The market is evolving so quickly here that agility needs to be central to your ethos. So, as technology providers, at WA.Technology we’re committed to offering flexible solutions that allow operators to experiment and innovate. Whether forming key local partnerships, launching cutting-edge promotions, or leveraging new technologies, the goal is to stand out and make a lasting impact. There are opportunities for those who dare to think outside the box and take calculated risks. At WA.Technology, we’re proud to achieve that on a daily basis
