(Buenos Aires).- With the signature of the President of the Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos, Matías Lanusse, Resolution 1043 was published that enables the call for the delivery of up to 7 licenses for a term of 15 years, non-extendable, for the game development under the online mode.

The Province of Buenos Aires opened the tender for the online game

Among the requirements to take part is the payment of the Right of Participation in the Call to Call in five million five hundred thousand pesos and the delivery of the documentation required in the Bases and Particular Conditions, on June 25, 2019, in the Meeting Room of Lottery.

With this, the Governor of the Province of Buenos Aires, María Eugenia Vidal hopes to increase the treasury of Buenos Aires with 2,500 million pesos a year. The figure would be formed with what was paid by the companies that operate the licenses, which would have to pay about a quarter of their turnover, which is made up of 15% of gross income, 8% of a specific tax for the activity , and 2% of the canon.

If the licenses are granted, the citizens of Buenos Aires will be able to bet on virtual casinos, turf, football matches and other sports that will make up the range of online possibilities, although for football, only matches of the First Category can be made.

In order not to encourage foreign participation in the business and take care of the interests of Buenos Aires companies, foreign companies that want to participate must associate with a local firm. In the same sense, looking to take care of the municipal finances, the communes will stay 10% of what is collected with 2% of the canon.

In Argentina the online game is provincialized, meaning that each jurisdiction has its own rules, but until then in Buenos Aires it was not regulated, which meant that the province did not receive any kind of taxes for the activity.

With this initiative, the new licensees would be based in La Plata to pay to the Buenos Aires accounts something more than 200 million pesos a month or almost 7 million per day and thus improve the government's cash flow.
