The Ministry of Finance has just launched a revolutionary strategic plan to regulate fixed-odds betting, bringing order and stability to the sector. Under Ordinance SPA/MF No. 561, the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) presents a detailed regulatory agenda, promising to transform and strengthen the betting industry in Brazilian soil.

This historic initiative, recently disclosed in the Official Gazette of the Union, represents a significant milestone in bringing clarity and security to a sector that previously faced uncertainties. With a action plan divided into four phases until July 2024, the goal is to establish a safe, transparent, and efficient betting environment.

The schedule starts with immediate measures to be implemented by the end of April, followed by subsequent stages until May and June, culminating in July. This includes defining general rules for betting operators, security criteria for betting systems, and guidelines for the certification of gaming laboratories and studios.

Furthermore, it temphasize transparency and responsibility, with specific regulations to combat money laundering and protect bettors' rights. The focus is on responsible gaming, ensuring that the benefits of the industry are shared in a scheduled and transparent manner with society.

With this ambitious plan, Brazil positions itself as a leader in betting regulation, ensuring a promising future for the sector while protecting the interests of bettors and society at large.

Key Highlights of the Regulatory Agenda:
1. Establishment of Regulatory Foundations (By the End of April)
- Definition of General Standards
- Requirements for Laboratories and Studios
2. Strengthening of the Regulatory Structure (By the End of May)
- Combating Money Laundering
- Protection of Bettors' Rights
3. Enhancement of Technical and Security Requirements (By the End of June)
- Detailing Security Requirements for Online Games
- Monitoring and Oversight
- Implementation of Sanctioning Actions
4. Consolidation of Social Responsibility and Responsible Gaming (By the End of July)
- Promotion of Responsible Gaming
- Social Allocation of Revenues

This schedule represents a true commitment to creating a regulated, safe, and ethical betting sector, providing a solid foundation for the sustainable growth of the industry and the protection of citizens.
