(Lima).- Peru has always had incredible land-based casinos that attracted tourists. Now, Peru is a country where gambling is heavily regulated to protect players. Clear laws have a positive impact in Peru. This article explains the new online casino regulation and other positive changes.

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru has approved the regulations for sports betting and online gambling contained in the Supreme Decree (005-2023-Mincetur). The law will enter into force 120 days after its publication date. Regulates technical and operational requirements for casino service providers.
It is the first regulation of this economic activity in the country. Peru has become the third South American country, after Colombia and Argentina, to accept this type of laws. The law will come into effect from February 9, 2024. All active service providers will have to apply for a license within one month or face fines.
Non-compliance can even lead to criminal action and a ban on offering gambling services. The regulations aim to generate income for tourism, infrastructure, sports and mental health programs.
Online casinos are increasingly popular in Peru. These websites are changing the way people experience gaming. People who enjoy new technologies want convenience and digital improvements. Online platforms meet these demands by offering numerous games. This trend changes the way players access games.
However, there are difficulties. Without proper regulations, problems such as fraud can arise, and keeping up with technological updates can be expensive for casinos. All in all, Peru's online casino sector offers important opportunities that are now included in the new law.
A significant improvement in online gaming is responsible gaming. Casinos must inform players about the dangers of gambling to prevent addiction. Many casinos even offer responsible gaming tools, like in this list:
* Deposit limits;
* Self-exclusion;
* Financial limits;
* Account history;
* Play time reminders;
* Education about responsible gaming.
These changes have been caused by the implementation of new laws. Now, players from Peru are protected by law and can get the best services.
Conclusion
The application of new and clear laws has a positive impact on gambling in Peru. All casinos must offer fair conditions to players. Therefore, players can have fun safely.
