(Macau).- Macau casinos generated MOP11 billion (US$1.37 billion) in gross gaming revenue (GGR) during the first 13 days of October, equating to MOP846 million per day.
The details were provided by J.P. Morgan analysts DS Kim, Mufan Shi, and Selina Li on Monday.
Despite an anticipated seasonal slowdown following the Golden Week a week earlier, the data indicates that the current daily revenue rate stands at MOP643 million, representing a 10 percent increase from September’s MOP575 million and aligning with August’s MOP637 million.
The month-to-date demand trends suggest that October’s GGR is poised to exceed approximately MOP22 billion, translating to over MOP700 million per day.
This forecast is poised to surpasses the earlier projections of MOP20 billion to MOP21 billion set by the brokerage and the market.
“The figures suggest that mass GGR has rebounded to approximately 130% of the pre-COVID level, with VIP at around 30% recovery,” the analysts wrote. “Both of these figures significantly exceed the third quarter’s recovery rates of about 110% and 25%, respectively.”
