(Las Vegas).- Hard Rock International is making steady progress on the redevelopment of the former Mirage site into Hard Rock Casino Las Vegas, with the iconic guitar-shaped hotel tower now well advanced as the company targets a fourth-quarter 2027 debut.
Construction of Hard Rock Casino Las Vegas continues to gain momentum on the Las Vegas Strip, where one of the largest casino-hotel projects currently underway is rapidly transforming the skyline. Crews have completed 28 of the 42 planned floors of the Guitar Hotel tower, marking a key milestone in the vertical phase of the development.
The tower rises from a structural base of approximately 100 feet that houses the first five levels, while the remaining height will accommodate 675 hotel rooms and suites. Exterior glazing is already being installed, with multiple floors fitted with two shades of blue glass that will define the resort’s final visual identity. The structure is now clearly visible from both ends of the Strip, underscoring the scale of the project.
Full Transformation of a Strip Landmark
The guitar-shaped tower is part of a comprehensive reinvention of the former Mirage property into Hard Rock Casino Las Vegas. Hard Rock International acquired the iconic resort from MGM Resorts International for US$1.075 billion in 2022 and initiated redevelopment work shortly after The Mirage closed in July 2024.
The original tri-tower hotel complex has been completely stripped to its core, with plans to reclad the exterior in matching blue glass to align with the new tower. Interior redesigns include larger standard guest rooms, a new resort layout and a significantly expanded casino floor, creating a gaming experience entirely distinct from the Mirage era.
Upon completion, the integrated resort is expected to feature nearly 3,600 hotel rooms and approximately 175,000 square feet of casino gaming space. Additional amenities will include two spas, multiple pool zones, live entertainment venues and a broad mix of dining, nightlife and retail options.
Physical Growth Paired With Digital Expansion
As construction advances in Las Vegas, Hard Rock continues to strengthen its digital gaming presence across the United States. In December, Hard Rock Bet launched its online sportsbook and casino offering in Michigan, becoming the brand’s tenth US sports betting market and its second state with regulated iGaming.
“This expansion represents a major milestone for Hard Rock Bet and reinforces our ascent as one of the fastest-growing digital gaming brands in the United States,” said Marlon Goldstein, Executive Managing Director and CEO of Hard Rock Digital, highlighting the company’s strategy of combining large-scale casino developments with growth in regulated online markets.
Together, the rise of Hard Rock Casino Las Vegas on the Strip and the expansion of Hard Rock Bet reflect a unified approach: leveraging iconic land-based casino destinations while building a robust digital footprint in key US jurisdictions.
