(Indiana).- Despite a slight year-over-year dip, Hard Rock Gary leads Indiana’s casino market with $37.3 million in July revenue, driven by top slot and table game performance.

The streak continues for Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, which once again secured its position as the highest-earning casino in the state for the 45th month in a row, according to July 2025 data released by the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC).
The Gary-based entertainment complex generated $37.3 million in "win" — the industry term for revenue after paying out to successful bettors — narrowly down 0.1% from July 2024's $37.6 million. Still, that figure was enough for Hard Rock to account for nearly 18% of Indiana’s total $208.9 million in casino revenue last month, which marked a 1.4% increase year-over-year.
Matt Schuffert, president of Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, praised the results, calling July “a solid month,” despite a 3% overall decline in the Northwest Indiana gaming market.
“July started off with a strong July 4th weekend and we never looked back,” said Schuffert. “Our entertainment calendar really kicks in during August with concerts by Travis Tritt, David Lee Roth and 311.”
The casino led the state in both slot and table game performance. Slot machine play reached $270.7 million, resulting in a $26.3 million win — slightly down from $27.5 million in July 2024 on $272.9 million in play. Table games, driven primarily by baccarat, brought in $45 million in play and $11 million in win, topping all other Indiana casinos in both categories.
Elsewhere in Northwest Indiana, other casinos showed mixed results. Horseshoe Hammond ranked fifth statewide with $19 million in win — a 5.2% decline from the previous year. Ameristar Casino in East Chicago reported $12.7 million in win, down 11.9% from July 2024. Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City, however, posted a 1.9% year-over-year increase with $11.5 million in win.
Across the border in Illinois, Wind Creek Chicago Southland Casino also saw growth, increasing adjusted gross receipts by 1% to $18.8 million. It ranked second in attendance and revenue among Illinois' 16 casinos during its eighth full month of operations.
As Hard Rock Gary continues its dominant run, the casino remains a cornerstone of the Indiana gaming landscape, attracting high volumes of play and entertainment-driven visitors month after month.
