(Macau).- Foreign nationals who have stayed in mainland China for 10 days or more and can return without a visa will be allowed to enter Macau from the mainland as of 22 August, the Macau government has announced. Previously, foreigners were completely banned from entering Macau.

Following the introduction of the new measure, there will be three categories of foreigners who can enter Macau:
Holders of a Portuguese passport
Holders of valid passports with documentation of long-term stay in Macau, such as foreign workers and family members of professional foreign workers
Holders of a valid passport with a stay of 10 days or more in mainland China and who can enter mainland China again without a visa, such as those whose passports are subject to a mutual visa waiver agreement between China and foreign countries or holders of a residence permit in China
Anyone entering Macau from mainland China by land will need to present a 48-hour nucleic acid test certificate, however those coming to Macau from outside Zhuhai and by air will need to present a 7-day nucleic acid test certificate and will be subject to a nucleic acid test upon arrival.
Foreigners other than Portuguese and foreign workers remain prohibited from entering Macau if they do not stay in mainland China for 10 days or more.
Any foreigner entering China will still be subject to the seven days hotel isolation plus three days of home observation measure.
