Famous Golf Course to House Massive $4B Casino Featuring 278,709 SQM Gaming Space

A massive new casino and resort with 3 million square feet (278,709 square meters) of gaming space is set to open alongside an iconic golf course within four years. It comes amid casino growth across the US in 2026, with a $705 million project only days away from becoming operational.

Financing and Project Scope

Earlier in October, Bally’s Corporation, a prominent global casino-entertainment company, closed a financing package alongside WhiteHawk Capital Partners for $400 million.

This loan will help fund the staggering $4 billion Bally’s Bronx integrated resort expected to open by 2030 in the Bronx, New York. Proceeds from the financing package are going toward construction costs and other expenses during the development of Bally’s Bronx. Some of the cash will also cover transaction fees, closing costs, and other general corporate needs.

Along with the $400 million, Bally’s also obtained a delayed draw term loan commitment for $160 million.

Resort Amenities and Golf Course Integration

Once operational, guests will have access not only to the sprawling gaming space but also to a 23-story luxury hotel with 500 rooms and a 2,000-person event center.

It’s important to note that the site of Bally’s Bronx currently houses Bally’s Golf Links at Ferry Point, formerly Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point, an 18-hole championship track designed by Jack Nicklaus. Bally’s does not intend to close the course, but rather to have it be a feature of the casino resort.

The structure is being built on approximately 20 acres of the property currently used for parking lots, the clubhouse, and part of the practice area, according to Bally’s website.

Infrastructure and Community Impact

There will also be $75 million in traffic and transit improvements to accommodate Bally’s Bronx, including a new highway overpass, among other road and pedestrian improvements.

“Our community first policy is a cornerstone of our identity,” Bally’s emphasized in a statement. “In every community where we operate, we forge strong partnerships within the communities to which we give back and support. Bally’s Bronx will be no exception. This project is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the Bronx!”

“Beyond creating thousands of union jobs, the project will spur economic revitalization throughout the Bronx.”

According to Bally’s, it will pay employees “more than 3x the average median income in the borough” as a starting salary. Bally’s expects to create 15,000 union construction jobs and 4,000 permanent union jobs with higher-than-average wages.

Christopher Jewett, senior vice president at Bally’s, also noted that the “goal is to create not just an integrated world-class entertainment destination, but a long-term partner in the Bronx’s future, supporting local businesses, education, transportation solutions, and workforce development.”

“This project will ensure that the Bronx thrives economically and culturally, becoming a key hub for tourism and community enrichment.”

Bally’s Broader Expansion and Market Trends

Bally’s is also opening a colossal new casino in Chicago, Illinois, worth $1.7 billion despite recent concerns that debt woes would kill the project.

Meanwhile, some “eye in the sky” costs are even forcing some smaller casinos in a US state to close for good by the end of November.
