(Macau).- The Sheraton Grand Macao hotel located at The Londoner Macao integrated resort will be replaced by the Londoner Grand brand, Sands China’s parent company, Las Vegas Sands, indicated on Thursday during the group’s second-quarter earnings call.

“We are now deep into our Londoner Grand renovation program. We plan the completion of the first tower by year-end 2024 and of the second tower by May 2025,” said Patrick Dumont, President and Chief Operating Officer of Las Vegas Sands.
As part of the conversion, the current two Sheraton towers will accommodate 2,405 rooms (compared to the current 3,968), while the number of suites will increase from 360 to 1,500.
The Sheraton Macao hotel opened in 2012 as part of the then Sands Cotai Central property, currently named The Londoner Macao, featuring 3,968 hotel rooms and boasting the status of the world’s largest Sheraton hotel.
The ongoing renovation works have already impacted Sands China’s results in the second quarter. Sands China’s Adjusted Property EBITDA for the second quarter of 2024 reached US$561 million, marking a 3.7 percent increase year-on-year but signalling an 8 percent decline compared to this year’s January to March period, according to a press release issued on Thursday.
During the second quarter, “a daily average of approximately 1,350 rooms were excluded from available rooms in connection with the renovations related to the conversion of the Sheraton towers to the Londoner Grand,” the company stated.
Major renovation work afoot at The Londoner Macao will keep the Pacifica casino, renamed Londoner Grand casino, closed until at least December this year.
