UK Casino Reopening: The Casino MK to Relaunch Under New Ownership, Creating Jobs in Milton Keynes

(Milton Keynes).- Casino MK will reopen soon under new management, following its closure earlier this year due to the previous operator’s financial difficulties.
The Casino MK is set to reopen under new ownership after closing earlier this year when its previous operator entered administration.
MERKUR Casino UK, one of the country’s leading operators of bingo halls and adult gaming centres, has completed the acquisition of the popular venue at Xscape, Marlborough Gate. Preparations are already underway for its reopening, which will create new jobs in Milton Keynes.
The venue closed its doors on 7 April following the collapse of Aspers. Now MERKUR plans to restore it as a key part of the city’s leisure and entertainment scene.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to bring The Casino MK into the MERKUR family,” said Mark Schertle, chief operating officer at MERKUR Casino UK. “This venue has played a significant role in the local leisure market. Our aim is to get the casino open again as quickly and smoothly as possible, and we are proud to be bringing more jobs to Milton Keynes, which is also the home of our headquarters.”
When it reopens, visitors can expect table games such as blackjack, roulette and poker, alongside the latest slot machines. The venue will also be updated to reflect MERKUR’s modern design standards.
The company, which operates venues nationwide including in Aberdeen, says demand for land-based gaming is growing again. “People are looking for places to unwind and enjoy themselves, and that is exactly what we aim to deliver in Milton Keynes,” added Mark. “Our experience in Aberdeen has shown the strong appetite for premium gaming, hospitality and entertainment — we look forward to bringing that same approach here.”
