Uruguay: Hotel casino tender authorized in Paysandú

(Paysandú).- The Ministry of Economy (MEF) and the Ministry of Tourism authorized the call for international public bidding to build a casino hotel in the city of Paysandú with an investment of 20 million dollars.
The Executive's resolution, dated Thursday, indicates that "the call for an International Public Bid is authorized for the construction, completion and start-up of a luxury hotel with a concession for the private exploitation of face-to-face games of chance in a casino, in the city of Paysandú, department of Paysandú".
The "total amount to be invested in the construction and furnishing of the luxury hotel plus the casino room must be equal to or greater than the sum of U$S 20,000,000 (twenty million American dollars), and can only be attributed to the investment up to the 10 percent of the price of the property where it will settle," according to the resolution.
The canon, which must be paid by the winning bidder to the government for the operation of the casino, is a minimum annual amount of $170,000 for the first year of the concession and increases annually, the resolution added.
To find out the bases of the bidding specifications, it can be consulted at www.comprasestatales.gub.uy and can be purchased up to 48 hours prior to the act of opening bids for $10,000 through an online process.
