(Austria).- G2 Esports, one of the leading entertainment brands in esports, and paysafecard, the eCash solution from leading specialised payments platform, Paysafe, extend their partnership for a fifth consecutive year.
The partnership will see the paysafecard brand continue to be promoted across multiple G2 Esports social media channels and Twitch live streams as well as via paysafecard-branded giveaways and event integration. Most recently, G2 Esports and paysafecard presented G2 Esports European Brawl II, an online tournament organised to create hype around VALORANT, which resulted in over 68,000 peak viewers.
G2 Esports is one of the largest esports organisations in the world, with 50+ players spread across seven teams competing in events around the world.
paysafecard provides gaming enthusiasts with a simple and safe way to pay online using cash and has been serving the gaming community since it was founded in 2000. paysafecard now has a global network of over 650,000 distribution outlets in 50 countries.
According to Statista, in 2020 close to 500 million people worldwide occasionally watch esports events. 223 million of those qualify as frequent viewers or enthusiasts – a figure which is expected to grow to 300 million over the next three years.
"paysafecard is one of the main reasons why we’ve been able to accomplish everything we've accomplished. Their support has been outstanding from day one,” commented Carlos ‘ocelote’ Rodriguez, CEO of G2 Esports. “I wish nothing but to keep making them happy over many years and to keep representing their brand and values as accurately as possible."
Konstantinos Maragkakis, paysafecard’s esports media representative, adds: “Esports has been in our DNA since paysafecard was founded 20 years ago. Gaming enthusiasts have been one of our core consumer groups from the beginning and we are committed to providing them with safe and secure eCash payment solution for the world of online entertainment. Partnerships with major industry players like G2 Esports are an integral part of our strategy to connect with our consumers and support an industry that we love.”
