(Bahamas, SoloAzar Exclusive).- The Caribbean Regulators Forum and Caribbean Gaming Show will take place from May 2 to May 4. In this context, SoloAzar interviewed Elizabeth Leiva, CEO of CGS GROUP, who spoke about how the organization of this exclusive event in the Bahamas was created, the challenges it entails and the novelties expected.
Could you tell us about the invitation by the Bahamas Gaming Board to organize CGS Bahamas?
In July of last year, conversations began with the Gaming Board for The Bahamas to analyze the possibility of taking our show to their country on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of gaming on the Island, as well as the celebration for the 50th anniversary of its independence. Multiple virtual and face-to-face meetings during these months to design an exclusive, tailor-made event, CLevel, that includes the main actors of the Caribbean scene in this academic and networking meeting. The chosen setting was one of the most attractive hotels in the Caribbean, the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort.
What is the current state of the gaming industry in the Bahamas?
The Bahamas has 3 Casinos for tourists, Sportbooks, as well as new licenses for upcoming openings, and a new model called Casino Boutique. For local players, there is a local entertainment room model where various types of online games begin to take place. There are no authorized road machines yet and the online licenses have procedures for obtaining them that will become more flexible over time. It is important to note that the minimum per capita income in the Bahamas is estimated at 850 euros per month.
What have been the main challenges during the organization, in these months prior to the event?
Each event has its own particularities. Taking on a challenge of this caliber is not easy nor is it accepted by any company, let's start from that premise. The Caribbean islands have different restrictions and characteristics that are not easy to overcome but with the experience we have, as well as with the assistance of allied companies that have been with us since our beginnings in the region and the support of the Gaming Boards with whom we sign solid agreements of Mutual cooperation, each new market where we develop events implies novel opportunities for development, adaptation and redesign of our logistics strategies and processes. We continue to grow, expanding our team of people and territories, and it allows us to work in multi-country and multi-language collaborative environments to deliver quality and sophisticated events hand in hand with our clients, sponsors and suppliers.
It is important to note that CGS events are not massive and are adapted to the specific needs of each market. Although working in an event year after year in the same place with the same associations, clients and visitors can be comfortable, it is also important to push the limits and be innovative to create ecosystems that need reinforcement and consolidation. At CGS, we prioritize not only meeting the needs of our attendees, but also providing a platform for growth and evolution within the gaming industry. By constantly striving for innovation, we hope to inspire our attendees and create a lasting impact in the industry.
What will be the news and highlights of the show?
Our two parallel events, as well as the 4 days of networking activities after the academic sessions and Expo, have been designed so that each delegate receives the correct value for their investment in return. The Bahamas is an experience for the English-speaking market, not Latin, not Brazilian. It is something totally different. Conferences, a small product exhibition and the best B2B network is what this group of 200 delegates is looking for. An event like no other and at the height of the country and scheduled celebrations.
On May 2, the "Caribbean Regulators Forum" will be held. Can you give us more details about this forum? Who participates and what topics will be discussed?
We are pleased to share the latest updates with the global gaming industry at our next event. With over 200 confirmed C-level gaming professionals, our event promises to bring together the top leaders and innovators in the gaming world for an unforgettable experience. We are dedicated to providing a platform for discussion, collaboration, and growth within the industry. Different specialists and authorities will accompany us; including Dr. Daniel Johnson, Executive Chairman, Gaming Board for The Bahamas, Chester Cooper, Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation, The Bahamas, Christopher Hebert, Director, Gaming Division, Louisiana Department of Justice. You can learn more about the topics and keynotes in our agenda: https://caribbeangamingshow.live/
