EEGS Webinars delved into responsible gaming with Pieter Remmers
⏱ 2 min read
(Sofia).- With the onset of the new year, the Eastern European Gaming Summit, EEGS, is expanding its program and outlines a new concept of the EEGS Webinars. A series of the same will be presented in various online formats: EEGS Webinars are offering different panel discussions, Free Online Masterclasses and Affiliate sections.
The first Free Online Masterclass took place on January 29, featuring the veteran in the field of responsible gaming Pieter Remmers, who delved into the crucial topic of “The need for Responsible Gaming Accreditation and Certification for the Gambling and Betting industry.”
Peter Remmers explained the ASTERIG methodology and discussed the ten parameters that provide a framework to examine the risk potential of different gambling problems. The dimensions include event frequency, interval of payback, continuity of playing, availability, multiple playing opportunities, variable stake amount, sensory product design and more. He told the participants that the overall risk potential of a gambling product is obtained by multiplying the weight of each dimension by the score on that dim adding up weighted scores to all ten dimensions.
During the webinar, Pieter Remmers explained what responsible gaming is by giving four different and equally important definitions of responsible gaming for operators, players, regulators and game developers. The discussion also covered typical prevention tools, the target audience for these measures, strategies to promote responsible betting, operational codes of practice, the importance of training, and player protection tools.
At the end of the webinar, he answered the numerous questions of the viewers and gave examples of notable case studies where accreditation has made a significant positive impact on the overall reputation and success of a gambling company.
We thank our distinguished lecturer for the profound insights he provided to the audience as well as all the participants for engaging in our first online masterclass on fostering a safer and more responsible gaming environment.
