G2E Asia moves to Singapore

(Singapore).- After several consecutive years of being held in the Macau SAR and after multiple pandemic related delays, the 2022 Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia will be moved from the SAR to the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, organisers revealed.
The in-person expo and conference version of the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia had been postponed again this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 disruption and continued travel restrictions across Asia Pacific.
The expo was initially scheduled to take place at The Venetian on August 17-19 of this year, however, due to the recent pandemic developments in the city, organisers decided to move it to August 30 – September 1, 2022.
The last on-site edition of G2E Asia to take place in Macau happened in May, 2019, with several delays and postponements announced since then.
However, the event organized by the American Gaming Association (AGA) and Reed Exhibitions now indicates on its website it will instead take place in Singapore between August 24 and 26 in another Las Vegas Sands property.
The convention held its inaugural edition at the Macau Tower in 2007 but later moved to the Venetian Macao, which has housed the expo every year until now.
In 2019 a special G2E Asia Philippines edition was held in cooperation with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation at Marriott Manila but the event had mainly been held in Macau.
