(Mexico City, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Rob Altamirano, CEO and Co-founder of Gaming Platforms.Net, reviews the company's achievements at SiGMA North America. During the event, the company forged key alliances and presented its innovative solutions to grant total technological autonomy to operators in the region.

Gaming Platforms.Net presents innovative licensing model at SiGMA North America

Gaming Platforms.Net presented its own brand for the first time at SiGMA North America

“It was our first booth as Gaming Platforms.Net, so it carried a special weight: after several years building the platform and working more discreetly, presenting ourselves for the first time with our own brand to the industry was seeing a long project take shape,” says Rob Altamirano, CEO and Co-founder, Gaming Platforms.Net.

"Beyond the symbolic aspect, the commercial reading was very positive. We received high-quality visits and left with concrete leads, which is really the metric that matters. The attendee profile was well aligned with what we are looking for: operations people, with decision-making capacity, not intermediaries. For a Costa Rican company that develops innovative technology for the Latin American operator, that direct conversation is worth more than the volume of traffic. And it must be said: Juan Manuel Rodríguez, Laura Acevedo, and the entire SiGMA team did an enormous job, and it showed on the event floor," adds Altamirano on the topic of the recent company's experience.

Direct demand and strategic alliances

Rob Altamirano values two things as especially relevant for his company during SiGMA North America.

The first was direct demand. “Eight operators approached us who are not satisfied with their current platform and who arrived looking for exactly what we offer: total control of their operation. That is our model—source code license, the operator becomes the owner of their technology, their data, and their roadmap, with no revenue share or dependence on the provider. Finding that conversation already started on the other side of the table, without having to explain it, is the best signal one can receive at a trade show.”

The second was the ecosystem. “We closed strategic alliances with Timeless Tech, a casino aggregator with access to more than 16,000 titles via a single integration, and with AcuityTec in identity verification, KYC, and fraud prevention. We also strengthened our relationship with Optimove in CRM and marketing automation. For the operator who acquires our platform, this is decisive: they receive the code, but also a top-tier ecosystem of providers already pre-integrated and tested. Independence does not mean being left alone.”

Mexico: The Bridge Between the North American and LATAM Markets

"Mexico is currently the market with the greatest potential in Latin America for us, and the reason is structural, not circumstantial. It is a market with decades of continuity, a consolidated land-based casino industry, and groups that have already built their brand, player base, and operational culture. That is a huge asset, and it is exactly the operator profile we work best with.

"That is where the real opportunity lies: many of those groups have a nascent digital arm, outsourced or rented under schemes that do not allow them to control their own data or their own growth pace. Our model—source code license, proprietary platform, self-manageable back office—is designed precisely for that group that already has the expertise and what they lack is technological autonomy.

"Within our strategy, Mexico is not just another market: it is a priority. We are focusing our growth there with the intention of consolidating our own team in the country, because we believe that this industry is built with a local presence and long-term relationships, not selling from a distance. And Mexico also plays a hinge role: it is where the North American supplier ecosystem and the Latin American operation converge, making it a natural entry point to the rest of the region."

PAM Platform and new Sportsbook: technological independence with proprietary source code

When discussing the new features and the innovative market needs Gaming Platforms.Net aims to address, Altamirano had this to say:

"We are bringing our two products under the same commercial model: our PAM platform and our new product, the sportsbook, which we are presenting to the market. Both with source code ownership transfer.

"That is the point that differentiates us, and we verified it on the event floor: we did not see any other platform provider selling the code like we do. The industry standard continues to be renting—revenue share, monthly fees tied to GGR, provider dependency for every change. The operator grows and ends up paying more and more for the same technology, without having built any proprietary asset and with their data on someone else's server.

"The need we solve is exactly that: the operator who already knows how to operate and what they need is independence. With our proposal, they install the platform on their own servers, guard their players' data and financial movements, manage their back office without intermediaries, and decide their own roadmap. We integrate whatever they require—CRM, payment gateways, aggregator, affiliates—and deliver it with an installation and back-office manual.

"In the sportsbook, the proposal goes a step further, because it is the product that a mid-sized operator can hardly set up on their own."

Altamirano highlights three capabilities:

Real-time risk monitor. The operator sees their exposure as it happens, not at the end of the day. In the sportsbook vertical, the difference between detecting a pattern in the moment and detecting it the next day vastly affects the GGR.

Unlimited front-end customization. No templates or provider restrictions: the operator's brand looks however the operator wants, and they can change it whenever they want.

Limit rules without restrictions. Limits per player, per market, per event, per risk profile, with the granularity the operation needs. Each market and each player base is different, and rented platforms usually force you to adapt to the provider's logic instead of the business's logic.

“The last two are possible precisely because the operator owns the code. And behind all this comes something that cannot be bought in a license: twenty-five years of experience operating sportsbooks. We don't just deliver the software; we guide the operator on how to manage the sportsbook vertical,” he clarifies.

Consolidation in Mexico and the challenge of changing the industry's mindset

“Our immediate work in the region is one of conviction rather than sales. Many operators have been renting their technology for so long that they don't even consider the alternative: they assume that relying one hundred percent on a third party is simply how this industry works. Our next step is to open up that conversation and allow the operator to think about owning the technology on which their entire business rests,” says Altamirano when asked about the company's next steps.

“In North America, the immediate step is to turn the conversations we opened in Mexico City into concrete projects, and to advance toward a stable presence in the country. Mexico is a declared priority within our growth plan, and we want to be there permanently, not just from trade show to trade show.”

Expansion, strategic alliances, and the impact of AI

"In terms of alliances, we continue to expand the ecosystem of products pre-integrated into the platform. The idea is for the operator to receive the best options on the market already connected and to be able to activate products quickly and easily, without opening an integration project every time they want to launch something new.

"In terms of markets, we want to follow the SiGMA circuit to Europe and Africa. Our base is Latin America and that is our focus, but the code ownership model is not a regional argument: it makes sense for any operator in any jurisdiction.

"And the trend we are following most closely is artificial intelligence-assisted development. We are convinced that operators are going to start considering building their own platform from scratch, because AI makes that seem attainable. Our reading is that it will happen, and that is why we decided to get ahead of it rather than defend ourselves: what we offer is that same destination—proprietary platform, proprietary code, total control—but without the years of development, without the cost of a full technical team, and without the headaches of building a PAM from scratch. The operator shouldn't have to choose between renting and starting from scratch. We give them the third option," he concludes.
