Chair's Introduction — The State of the Brazilian Market in Mid-2026

To kick things off, Alex W. Pariente will present his vision of the Brazilian market at the beginning of the second half of 2026: the channelization gap behind the official figures, the World Cup as a litmus test for the regulated regime, and the outlook for PL 2234, the bill that contemplates the authorization of land-based casinos in the country.

Nineteen months after regulation began, the Brazilian market is moving from issuing licenses to a stage focused on effective supervision under an already established institutional architecture.
