(San Juan) - GAT Expo Puerto Rico will take place on October 28 and 29 at the Puerto Rico Convention Center and will bring together a full complement of local authorities, executives, associations, manufacturers, and international experts in an agenda that combines academia, a trade show, and cultural experiences.
The gaming and digital entertainment industry is undergoing a process of transformation and consolidation in this island territory. Renewed regulations, the arrival of new operators, and the expansion of technological platforms mark a turning point for the island, which is projected to become a very important benchmark in the region. Thus, the timing chosen by GAT Events to land in Puerto Rico offers an optimal setting for finding new business opportunities through interaction with leading brands in innovation and new technologies that are trending in the sector.
GAT Expo Puerto Rico will take place on October 28 and 29 at the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan and will bring together a full complement of local authorities, executives, associations, manufacturers, and international experts in an agenda that combines academics, trade shows, and cultural experiences.
The academic sessions will take place in the mornings of both days, including a detailed analysis of the regulatory framework issued by the Gaming Commission of the Government of Puerto Rico, which advances the consolidation of modern licensing and oversight standards, opening spaces for both local operators and international brands interested in the Caribbean market.
Juan Carlos Santaella, the highest authority in the sector, and the officials in charge of Casinos and Gaming, Horse Racing, Sports Betting, Fantasy Contests, and Slot Machines, will share with the audience the details of the current regulations and the short- and medium-term objectives of the regulations in place.
International associations such as Asojuegos and Fecoljuegos of Colombia will present their approaches and knowledge on the prevention and control of money laundering from diverse perspectives, as well as the progress of the International Gaming Federation (FIJA), a recently created entity at GAT Expo Mexico that was warmly received as an international organization and spokesperson for gaming associations in various countries.
“Since our first inspection visit to Puerto Rico with a view to holding an event in San Juan in 2025, GAT Events found a favorable environment and full support from the Gaming Commission. The island hadn't hosted a trade show in a decade, making the strategic alliance reached with the Puerto Rican government's regulatory body even more significant. This partnership has strengthened the relationship with local operators and enabled joint collaboration in the construction of the project.
The regulatory authority will play a leading role in the academic agenda, networking activities, and trade show, consolidating our shared commitment to innovation, responsible gaming, and sustainable industry growth. I also highlight the closing musical show featuring the renowned orchestra El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, sponsored by Raza Carreras and its brands Redwall and Ragnes. It will undoubtedly be an unforgettable celebration.” José Aníbal Aguirre, CEO of GAT Events, emphasizes that all these synergies signal the beginning of a promising future for the entertainment and technology sector in the Caribbean.
The trade show booths will open to the public on Wednesday, October 29th, at 2:00 pm and will last until 7:00 pm. Visiting business owners will be able to learn about high-quality products and services from the following suppliers and distributors:
