GEFA: Gateway to the African Gaming Industry

(Casablanca).- iGaming is rapidly increasing in popularity in Africa. For example, the industry in South Africa generated $2.2 billion in income during the 2022 fiscal year. Nigeria generated more than $600 million in the same year.
Eventus International will be hosting 4 events across the continent in 2023 to further explore these widespread opportunities, with the goal of continuing to connect the African Market post-pandemic and exploring the vast array of opportunities in this industry in Africa.
The first of 4 events will be The Gaming Expo Francophone Africa (GEFA) to be hosted at Barceló Anfa Casablanca, Morocco from 8 - 9 March 2023. The distinguished panel of speakers will kick off GEFA with productive discussions on the challenges, opportunities, regulatory requirements for entering Francophone Africa’s gaming markets, and assessments of the gaming landscape in various Francophone African countries. The second day of the summit will cover technology trends, latest online and mobile sports betting innovation, as well future trends in gaming industry in the region.
Online gaming in this region online is being driven by increasing digitization, expanding use of mobile devices and high internet penetration, in addition to accessible and more diverse payment options. The opportunities that this provides for individuals and companies will be discussed in depth at GEFA 2023.
The event will welcome esteemed industry leaders to GEFA 2023 along with over 300 international and African gaming operators, regulators and providers.
The second will be the 9th Annual BiG (Betting & iGaming) Africa Summit. Taking place from 30 - 31 March 2023 at in Johannesburg, South Africa, Delegates can expect a 2-day agenda that focusses on gaining access to the gaming industry on the African continent – an event for gaming operators and suppliers to meet as well as the opportunity to network with existing and potential clients and peers, to discuss the way forward in the “new normal”. The rise in use of AI in the South African iGaming industry to increase financial security, speed of doing business and online safety will be one of the key talking points that makes this event one not to be missed!
Third, the 8th Annual Sports Betting East Africa+ Summit will be taking place from 13 - 14 July 2023 in Kampala, Uganda. The event will have an operator first agenda designed to empower operators through open discussion with all relevant industry stakeholders – be they operational, regulatory or market-related.
