(London, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Alessandro Fried, Chairman BtoBet, spoke in exclusive with SoloAzar after the participation of the company at ICE 2018. “Europe is a growing regulated market and our platforms, multi jurisdiction and multicurrency, perfectly suit the needs of any European operator and bookmaker”, he said.
What did you introduce at ICE 2018?
In London we showcased our redesigned divisions, offering an even more comprehensive suite of products and services: BtoBet Sports, with its Sportsbook platform and services for bookmakers, and BtoBet Games with its IGaming platform and services for gaming operators. Additionally, we focused on the importance to be a trusted technology partner, and not just a software provider for the iGaming and Sports betting industry.
How do you see this year show?
ICE Totally gaming has confirmed to be the biggest show in the Gambling industry in Europe and we are very satisfied for the interesting meetings held at our stand, setting the basis for future expansions in new rising regulated markets worldwide. We are very pleased to notice that operators and bookmakers recognized BtoBet as brand and its technology. At ICE they confirmed the interests in discovering more about how we help our clients in Latam, Africa and Europe to make their brand evolve and become unique on the market. In fact, our sophisticated Artificial intelligence technology and flexible tools help them to build their offers and stand out from the crowd, online, mobile and retail.
What are the company plans for this year 2018?
The launch of BtoBet Gaming and BtoBet Sports divisions is a fundamental part of the strategy meant to be implemented throughout the year. I believe the reshaping of the company’s structure will project us as a more trusted technical partner, always available to assist its clients in all their needs. There is no doubt that BtoBet has one of the most advanced product portfolios on the market. So the main challenge for us will be to transfer this fullness of product to the market. By doing so, BtoBet will definitely capitalise on the interest shown in its products by operators. And this will permit the company to further establish itself and increase its market share.
How do you see the European market and what is the positioning of the company?
Europe is a growing regulated market and our platforms, multi jurisdiction and multicurrency, perfectly suit the needs of any European operator and bookmaker. BtoBet is following the regulations for data protection and additionally, in all segments of our work, we are preparing compliance with the new GDPR law that kicks in end of May 2018.

What are the countries in the European region that stand out in their evolution in the gambling industry?
I don’t particularly see a shift or growth being registered in one particular European market. I am more of the opinion that the whole European market itself will change. One must keep in mind that in a few months time the European Union is set to introduce the new General Data Protection Regulation, and this will eventually make the whole European scenario a more complex one. With the General Data Protection Regulation on the table, all the actors in the process and not only the operators themselves, will be subject to this regulation. This regulation will also introduce hefty fines that could reach into the millions of euros, and therefore the operators must make sure to make the right choice and the correct decisions also as regards their technical partners to be fully compliant.
Advances in technology pose a new type of player, a new generation. How does the company adapt to the need to maintain players attention?
The key role played by technology in the sports betting and iGaming industry - to keep operators’ products in line with the trends and, ultimately, consumer expectations - is undeniable. For this reason bookmakers and operators must understand its evolution to stay ahead of the competion. They need to count on ongoing updating products, staying always open to limitless personalisations in terms of content, look and risk management. We allow our clients to offer unique style and design, to propose engaging experience through all the selling channels, presenting a customised product offer to their players, according to their personal expectations and preferences. How? Through our stable, open, advanced, flexible and scalable platform tailored for Sportsbook and Gaming, proposing scalable solution for any channel, any jurisdiction and any business model.
How do you see the future of the industry globally?
I truly believe that the technological aspect will be dominant in the global industry and technologies are the foundation of any type of gaming operation. Many established organisations in the gaming industry came to light a substantial number of years ago, and nowadays they are in a position that they are operating in a market that is driven by totally different criteria from the one that characterised their initial years of operation. Thus, in the near future they must take important decisions, or risk losing their current position in the market. And this encases the importance of having the right technical partner.
