(Lima, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Peru Gaming Show, the most anticipated trade show in Latin America, celebrated its 20th anniversary and closed its doors yesterday with great success and repercussion, exceeding all the expectations of the organizers. The event was held this week at the Jockey Exhibition Center in Lima.
Joe López and Rubén Solórzano, authorities of the Affiliated Marketing Group business group and organizers of the Peru Gaming Show (PGS), stated that the event was a total success and exceeded all expectations. The fairgrounds were completely full and the parking lot even had to be expanded and there was a line of cars of almost 10 blocks to enter the show.
The welcome party included an excellent presentation of traditional Peruvian music, with a packed capacity that allowed all the collaborators who had a day of stress and multiple work at their stands to have fun.
In addition to the exhibition, which was attended by important gaming companies and the networking event that took place on the first day, there was an award ceremony for leading professionals in the industry, which awarded:
Klaus Schwerbrock from the Gauselmann Group: A review was made of his beginnings in the gaming industry, which date back to July 1987, where he started as a chief electrical engineer for a development area of today's ADP Gauselmann GmbH, which in those days was a typical German company focused on a typically German public. There he continued his career for all these years. His first visit to Peru was in 1995, and from there, he began to like its culture, its food, and the warmth of its people. "Klaus is one of the representatives of the big brands that has been present since the first edition of the Peru Gaming Show and has not stopped making an appearance since then," organizers highlighted at the award ceremony.
Schwerbrock, who is currently retired but continues to work part-time for the Gauselmann Group Management Committee, came to receive the award with some warm words for the audience.
They also honored Manuel San Román for his work in the industry. San Román was General Director of Casinos and Slot Machines from 2006 to 2022. He joined MINCETUR in 2006. At that time, the percentage of formality was less than 4% in the activity of gambling halls and slot machines, and proposed to the congress the formalization of this activity. By 2009, it was possible to achieve 100% formalization of this activity, highlighted in PGS.
Among other achievements, it was noted that San Román began a frontal fight against illegality, closing illegal gambling halls. In 2015, he was recognized as the best gaming regulator in South America and America in general, and the Responsible Gaming Policy was implemented in Peru. Rubén Solórzano presented the award.
Finally, the formal announcement of PGS 2024 was made, which will take place on June 12 and 13, 2024.
