SBC announces partnership with IBJR for Inaugural SBC Summit Rio

(Rio de Janeiro).- SBC and The Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming (IBJR) have entered into a deal which will see the Brazilian institution taking on the role of strategic partner.
The partnership was formalized ahead of the upcoming SBC Summit Rio, the newest addition to the SBC events roster. Brazil’s senior executive betting & gaming event will take place from March 5 -7, at the 5-star Windsor Barra Hotel and mark the introduction of a sports betting and iGaming event specifically tailored to the region.
IBJR was founded in March 2023 through the collaborative efforts of global betting companies Bet365, Flutter, Entain, Betsson Group, Betway Group, Yolo Group, NetBet Group, KTO Group and Rei do Pitaco. With the Brazilian market on the cusp of legalisation, IBJR's main objective is to contribute to the facilitation of a regulated and safe environment for Brazilian bettors, whilst also ensuring fruitful and sustainable regulations for regional operators.
Andre Gelfi, President of IBJR said: “It is an honor for IBJR to be partnering with SBC for the inaugural SBC Summit Rio. As this will be the first event in a regulated Brazil, it is important for us to partner with a company that helps bring the industry together to discuss all the pressing issues in the country and supports our values with their educational content and efforts.
“We see this as a fantastic opportunity to meet thousands of delegates looking to capitalize on the burgeoning opportunities in Brazil, in a sustainable and responsible manner."
The strategic partnership will provide IBJR with a platform to spread its message around responsible gambling and effective regulations. For SBC, its partnership with the respected Brazilian institution will not only aid in raising awareness for the event across the region but also help solidify SBC Summit Rio as the premier gathering for senior industry executives interested in the Brazilian market.
Cristian Robalino, VP of Marketing SBC Americas, said “As defenders of fair, effective policies and regulations, IBJR have proven invaluable to the Brazilian market and its continued development. Tapping into IBJR’s regulatory and responsible gambling expertise will help elevate our understanding and expertise in this market even further, providing benefits not just to us as event organizers, but also to the wider betting community, including operators, affiliates, suppliers and even sports teams.”
Even though SBC Summit Rio is SBC's inaugural independent event in Brazil, the event organizer co-hosted the 2022 Brazil Football Expo in partnership with the Brazilian Football Confederation, marking the start of SBC's interest in the region. Moreover, earlier this year, SBC launched the SBC Notícias Brasil news platform to provide the latest news and stories from the region to its audience of readers.
With a focus on regulations, localized product offerings, sports integrity, and data rights amongst other topics, SBC Summit Rio aims to bring together over 2,000 locally based and global senior executives.
Throughout the event, participants will receive an unparalleled educational experience as over 150 expert speakers share their unique perspectives on the current and future opportunities and challenges in the Brazilian market. Additionally, the exhibition floor will lay host to 70 exhibiting brands across the event, providing delegates with the chance to witness the latest technologies, products and services the region has to offer.
