(Malta, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Diego Salas, Altenar Sales Manager, shared his thoughts with SoloAzar about the recent participation of the firm at SIGMA Europe. Not only he commented about the key innovations and products presented by the firm, but also underlined the growing importance of the Intelligence services for the iGaming industry.

SIGMA Europe 2024: Altenar focused on innovations and tailored solutions

Productive exhibition to meet potential clients

Diego Salas was very satisfied with the performance of Altenar at SIGMA event. “We're always delighted to attend SiGMA Europe, which is a big event for us, especially with many of our team based in Malta. It’s a chance to bring together members of various teams as well as meeting up with familiar faces from across the industry. We had an unmissable presence with our large banners outside the building and our stand is always popular thanks to the best coffee at the event! It was also a good opportunity to discuss what we can offer to potential clients. Whether they are looking to change provider or existing sportsbook operators looking for help moving into new markets, we have the expertise to help them with their strategy.”

He added that they have also been talking to existing casino operators who are looking to expand and add sportsbook to their offering. “It was a productive exhibition for us and hopefully it will lead to new partnerships down the line.”

Altenar: Key innovations and products

“It’s been a busy year for Altenar in terms of new products and our focus, as ever, has been on innovation and delivering products which allow our partners to deliver a more tailored solution to their players, which boosts both player acquisition and retention,” Salas said.

“We've delivered improvements to key sportsbook features such as Bet Builder, micro markets, Bet Boosts and Early Payout, while our proprietary bet acceptance logic has transformed the user experience when it comes to live betting. We have also launched standalone racing and esports lobbies so there is a lot for operators to be excited about as we look towards 2025 and beyond."

When asked how does SiGMA help strengthen Altenar brand and connect with audiences and strategic partners, he answered the following: “We are a global sportsbook provider and have clients in many different markets, including Europe, Latin America, North America and Africa. SiGMA hosts events all around the world and working with them allows us to highlight the ways in which our products and solutions can be tailored to the needs of each region. This flexibility, plus our knowledge of the opportunities and challenges in each market, sets us apart from other providers and SiGMA’s exhibitions provide a strong platform to deliver that message.”

The biggest challenges in the industry today

Salas pointed that the sportsbook industry faces several key challenges, including rapidly changing regulations, the need for constant technological innovation, and the growing demand for localised solutions in diverse markets like Latam.

“At Altenar, we address these challenges by staying ahead of regulatory updates, investing heavily in research and development to enhance our platform, and providing highly customisable solutions that cater to the unique needs of each market. This proactive approach ensures that our clients are not only compliant but also competitive in this evolving industry.

Advances in AI, augmented reality or other technologies in the product portfolio

“Intelligence services are becoming more and more important in the iGaming industry and we have produced an exciting in-house solution to leverage the data produced by our sportsbook, which can really unleash the power of player personalisation. Operators can use the data from our sportsbook in a variety of innovative ways, including producing personalised content for users, performing automated user segmentation, audience group creation and much more”, he said.

“Altenar’s Intelligence Platform consolidates data from various sources into a single repository, allowing for easier access and analysis. By storing and retrieving historical data, it allows for the evaluation of past performance and tracking patterns over time, while marketing campaigns can be based at specific player groups based on factors such as their betting habits and frequency. The improved functionality will also help to boost the detection of potential risks, including problem gambling or fraudulent activities, so this is a positive development for operators and players. It is one of the most advanced data platforms in the market and 2025 will be an exciting year as we’ve built the infrastructure required to move towards AI”, he concluded.
