Successful ICE London 2024 concludes today; Barcelona 2025 in the spotlight

In a positive and enthusiastic environment, the gaming industry has experienced a new edition of ICE where new developments, product and technology launches have been presented, as well as new connections and business opportunities for international markets. 75 nations are represented at the show.

The best game distributors, developers, retailers, operators, trade associations, innovators, regulators and strategic organizations all showed a massive interest in taking part at the show, as usual.

Within this event, one of the central points was ICE VOX 2024, which brought together industry experts to discuss trends, innovations and challenges in the world of gambling.

Regulation and Compliance, Technology and Digital Transformation, Esports and Sports Betting, Sustainability and Social Responsibility and User Experience and Personalization are the axes that were deepened in these talks.

With a more international footprint than ever, ICE seeks to expand its reach to markets around the world:

Latin America in focus

Latin America has also left its mark at ICE London 2024, with the notable participation of companies, regulators, operators and suppliers from the region.

International regulators: Latin American round table

At the round table on regulation in Latin America, relevant topics regarding recent developments and the future of the industry in the region were discussed. Latin American regulators said they are working to establish clear regulatory frameworks.

Among the distinguished Latin American speakers were members of CIBELAE, Karen Marcela Sierra-Hughes, vice president of GLI for Latin America, the Caribbean and Spain; and Agustín Li Gambi, president of the Legal Affairs Commission of the Argentine Association of Lotteries, Quinielas and Casinos (ALEA).

Another relevant speaker was Miguel Ángel Ochoa Sánchez, president of the AIEJA, who spoke about the recent reform of the Law Regulations in Mexico and the objective of promoting a new Gaming Law that provides security to investors interested in the Mexican market.

Also participating were Cecilia Valdés, president of the Chilean Association of Gaming Casinos; and Eduardo Alfonso Sevilla Echevarría, general director of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru (Mincetur). Associate members such as IGT, Playtech, Paybrokers, EaglePress, BMM Testlabs, Pay4Fun and Sporting Solutions were also present.

Growth Markets Zone

In 2025, with the change of headquarters to Barcelona, ICE's objective is to expand its reach, so that companies in the sector can connect and do business with new markets in other regions.

For this reason, Growth Markets Zone is a space dedicated to emerging markets, such as Latin America and Africa.

In this case, there were two conferences dedicated to Brazil: “Macroeconomic depth on the current political and economic perspectives of Brazil, as well as perspectives on payments in the regulated market” and “Onshore reality from a competitive and commercial perspective.”

The focus was also placed on Peru regarding the issue of sports betting and online gaming in that country.

With the aim of change and expansion into new markets, a successful ICE 2024 culminates, while the organizers and the international gaming industry are already looking forward to ICE Barcelona 2025.
