(Cartagena de Indias, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Today, GAT Cartagena Academy conference and panel agenda takes place at the Las Américas Convention Center, consolidating its position as the leading space for analysis on the present and future of the gaming sector in Latin America. In this article, we present the GAT Gaming & Technology Expo schedule of activities for the entire week.
GAT Gaming & Technology Expo is taking place this week, from April 28th to 30th, in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.
Yesterday, SUNDAY, APRIL 27, 2025, the following events took place:

HISTORICAL NETWORKING

● Panoramic tour of San Felipe Castle.
● Visit to the Cartagena Literature Museum.
● Gethsemane Walking Tour.
● Guide.
● Inquisition Museum.
Today, MONDAY, APRIL 28, 2025 the formal ceremony begins at 9:00 am, and the conferences will run until 4:00 pm, including a light lunch and coffee bar for accredited participants.
Coljuegos will participate, represented by its president, Marco Emilio Hincapié, and his management team. The Puerto Rico Gaming Commission, led by Juan Carlos Santaella, will also be present.
The event will bring together presidents and members of Colombian associations such as Asojuegos, Cornazar, Fecoljuegos, and Fedelco, along with international representatives from SONAJA (Peru), AIEJA (Mexico), and CIBELAE. This meeting will foster a regional dialogue focused on regulation, sustainability, innovation, and economic projection to strengthen the gaming sector.
With an outstanding lineup of 35 speakers, the event reaffirms the relevance and impact of this event on the industry.

Regulation and the Black Market in Latin America: Challenges and Solutions
(Lima, SoloAzar Exclusive).– As part of the Peru Gaming Show (PGS) 2026 conferences, gaming industry leaders analyzed one of the main challenges currently facing regulated markets in Latin America: the growth of illegal gambling. The panel "Regulation and the Black Market: Challenges and Solutions" brought together Carlos Fonseca, CEO of Gaming Law, as moderator; Neil Montgomery, founding partner of Montgomery & Associados; Tatiana Vásquez, founding partner of Vázquez Asociados; Karen Sierra Hughes, Vice President for Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain at GLI; and Vanessa Cabrera, Director of the Control and Sanction Directorate of the DGJCMT-MINCETUR, who debated the causes of the black market, the available regulatory tools, and strategies to strengthen channeling toward legal gaming in the region.
