(San Pablo, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Valter Delfraro Junior, Government Relations and Business Development Executive, Brazil at GLI, was interviewed by SoloAzar about his experience and reflections on the recent expo CGS Brasil, and how GLI can help the market apply the best practices of the gaming industry in the country.
How was your experience in this first edition of the expo CGS Brasil?
We reinforced our commitment to support regulators, operators, and game suppliers with our participation in CGS Brasil. As we do at every event we attend, we help attendees understand that GLI is more than a certifying laboratory; we are a partner to regulators, suppliers, and operators. Our commitment in Brazil is to help all interested parties to build this market in a consistent way, bringing our experience to apply the best practices of the gaming industry here in Brazil, as well as talking about how GLI can help the market implement a responsible gaming program.
Related to the conference about the importance to rule the market after the 2018 law, how do you see the Brazilian market, and what expectations do you have in the near future regarding the legalization of gambling in the country? Could you summarize the topic you presented?
The panel was really interesting and allowed us to hear from the future regulatory body about the status of the process. The Brazilian market is the biggest one in the region, and the regulation of this activity will allow the entrance of international companies, which will benefit the country in all manners. It is important that the regulation that will be created doesn’t limit the technology and offers stability and security for all the stakeholders. As a lab, our main target at this stage is to offer all our knowledge and experience to all the parties involved and get at the end, a solid, transparent, and secure jurisdiction.
What are your conclusions and reflections about the conference of Sports Betting in the Brazilian market?
We've had excellent feedback regarding this panel. We addressed relevant topics and sought to bring relevant information to the audience. We talked about the importance of market regulation, the need to have certified processes and platforms to offer the player a safe product of the highest integrity, and we made a comparison with the regulated markets in Latin America and where Brazil can go after the regulation of games. We reinforce the importance of speaking out on the subject and increasingly clarify that a regulated market does not promote the game but brings all the security so that the game is explored in a conscious and safe way.
