Casinos and gambling Halls continue to grow in Colombia, new record

(Colombia).- According to a Coljuegos report, the total transfers to the health of Colombians by the Games of Luck and Chance sector in 2022 was 737,872 million pesos (usd 175 M) of which localized games (casinos and bingos) were the ones with the greatest contribution in collections reaching 319,710 million pesos (usd 72 M).
It represents a growth of 33% more than the previous year, thanks to the increase in electronic slot machines (METs) which reached a total of 101,202, which represents a growth of 9%, in 3,428 commercial establishments, which represents a 14% growth compared to 2021.
The localized games registered bets for 40,283 billion pesos (usd 90 M) at the end of 2022, which represented a growth of 11% compared to the same period last year and the games operated by Internet reported bets for 26,883 billion pesos (usd 38 M), with a growth of 67 % percent.
Internet games collection was 255.376 mil millones de pesos (USD 56 M) reporting a betting collection of around 26.883 billones de pesos (USD 5.9B), with a 67% growth, boosted by recent Qatar Football World Cup.
On the other hand, it is estimated that around 50,000 units operate illegally under the protection of fraudulent licenses or agreements.
