(Santiago).- The Chilean casino operator will give responsible gaming talks to native and Latino communities with gambling problems in the counties of Los Angeles, San Diego, Tulare and Sacramento. While the UCLA Gambling Studies Program will train the community and gambling counselors where Dreams is present on problematic gambling.
In an unprecedented and pioneering way in Latin America and Chile, this November 7, Dreams S.A. casinos signed the first mutual cooperation agreement on responsible gambling and problem gambling with the prominent University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA), through which they will reinforce these practices through training. This is the first agreement signed by Dreams S.A with a prominent university such as UCLA, which confirms the leadership of the largest operator in the casino industry in Chile in this matter, given the value given to responsible entertainment.
“Dreams is the operator with the most experience in responsible gaming in all of Latin America. His 15-year career; By training more than 380 counselors to identify cases of problem gambling in our country and carrying out a self-exclusion policy, they prove it. That is why we want to continue contributing in this matter,” said Patricio Hermann, General Manager of Dreams S.A.
Given this need and with the aim of continuing to advance, the Dreams Responsible Gaming team, led by Mariela Huenchumilla, will work hand in hand with psychologist Michael Campos, a key member of the UCLA Gambling Studies Program team, headed by Dr. Tim Fong and Richard Rosenthal, to train professionals from both countries in both responsible and problematic gambling on the ground.
“This agreement signed with the Chilean casino operator will undoubtedly be a contribution. Given Dreams' recognized experience in this matter, they will give talks on responsible gambling in the counties of Los Angeles, San Diego, Tulare and Sacramemto to the promoters of the NGO Misión y Compromiso who work with the native and Latino community with gambling problems and "UCLA will do the same by training communities and gambling counselors on problem gambling, where Dreams is present, in order to identify players who are at risk," added psychologist Michael Campos.
The program for the launch of this agreement included the signing of the agreement at the UCLA facilities, in addition to the relationship with the most important representatives of problematic and pathological gambling at the Pachanga tribal casino, with which UCLA works to address gambling problems in the community. Native American, and the Gardens casino, a great reference for its gaming rooms, which is regulated separately from tribal casinos, since in the United States the tribes are sovereign nations.
