(Almaty).- Authorities in Kazakhstan have broken up a major illegal online gambling operation, seizing luxury vehicles, cryptocurrency holdings and more than 150 million tenge in cash as part of an ongoing criminal investigation.
The Almaty Department of the Financial Monitoring Agency is leading the probe into a group accused of operating and promoting unauthorized online casinos under the 1Win brand, according to local media reports.
Extensive Structure and Payment Channels
Investigators allege that the organizers established a network of legal entities registered under nominee individuals to facilitate the operation. Through the 1Win platform, users were reportedly given access to more than 11,000 gambling titles, including casino games, sports betting markets and e-sports wagering options.
Authorities said the platform processed payments via bank cards, electronic payment systems and cryptocurrencies, enabling significant financial turnover and cross-border fund flows.
The suspects have been placed on an international wanted list. A court has ordered their arrest in absentia and approved the confiscation of their assets.
High-Value Asset Seizures
Among the assets seized are several high-end vehicles, including a Mercedes Maybach S500, a Lamborghini Huracán and a Toyota Land Cruiser. Law enforcement agencies also confiscated 151 million tenge in cash, along with $14,600 and €44,400 from various accounts.
Officials stated that the total value of confiscated property exceeds 420 million tenge. All recovered assets have been transferred to state ownership while the investigation continues.
The case underscores Kazakhstan’s ongoing enforcement efforts against unlicensed online gambling operations, particularly those leveraging international brands and digital payment channels to reach local players.
