(Macau).- Macau welcomed more than 105,000 visitor arrivals for consecutive days over the weekend in yet another indication that visitation is rapidly returning to pre-COVID levels.

According to information from the Public Security Police Force, there were 110,468 arrivals on Saturday, followed by another 107,956 on Sunday – almost exactly level pegging the average 107,962 visitor arrivals Macau welcomed each day in 2019.
With another 83,275 visitors entering the city on Monday, the Chung Yeung Festival holiday, the three-day long weekend total reached 301,705 at an average of 100,568 per day.
The highest single day visitation figure since Macau re-opened its borders on 8 January was the 158,726 who arrived on Saturday 30 September, the second day of the National Day Golden Week holiday.
Meanwhile, the director of the Macao Government Tourism Office, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, said over the weekend that Macau had welcomed 5.58 million arrivals from Hong Kong in the first nine months of 2023, as reported by TDM.
While the government has not yet released its full visitation figures for September, it had previously revealed that Hong Kong arrivals accounted for 27% of all visitor arrivals through the first eight months of the year.
