Merkur add to safer gambling 360 Advisory Board

(London).- MERKUR UK has broadened the scope of its 360 Social Responsibility programme with the addition of Regal joint-MD Matt Bicknell to its policy-making Advisory Board.
The Board, which welcomed Matt to its August meeting, received an update on the age verification system currently being trialled by Regal across a sample of pubs operated by its customers. MERKUR UK General Manager Sascha Blodau believes the 360 Advisory Board plays a key role in underlining and driving the company’s commitment to safer gambling and social responsibility generally. He stated:
“Social Responsibility and Safer Gambling sit at the core of all of the MERKUR UK family of businesses and I’m delighted to add Regal joint MD Matt Bicknell to the 360 Board.“
Regal’s experience with trialling the latest machine age verification technology is an example of how we are exploring every opportunity to set even higher safer gambling standards across all land-based, low stake, low prize gambling entertainment sectors.
“Age verification technology is an important tool for venues such as pubs where machine playing is an ancillary activity.”
The 360 Advisory Board also received a report on the introduction of the MERKUR Portal, a platform which provides consumer-facing staff with an additional in-venue resource for safer gambling insight and information.
The Board used its August meeting to discuss an extension of MERKUR UK’s environmental programme following the successful completion of a two-year tree planting initiative in partnership with the National Trust.
