Brazil: The government would increase the tax on sports betting operators from 15 to 16%

(Brasila).- The government would increase the tax on sports betting operators, which would go from 15% to 16% of the GGR. This extra amount will go to the Ministry of Sports, with the aim of promoting grassroots sports.
A 16% stake will be divided as follows:
*2.55% will go to the National Public Security Fund
*0.82% in primary
*1.63% to clubs, name assignment change
*10% social security
*1% of Sports

The Ministry of Finance also negotiated with Minister Esther Dweck, of Management, the creation of a Secretariat for Gambling and Lotteries -which will be provided for in the MP-.
This new structure will be in charge of analyzing the documents to approve or deny the accreditation of operators in the country, as well as monitoring the volume of deposits and returns.
To offset the increase in expenses, the Ministry of Finance suggests using the income with the payment of subsidies, which will amount to R$ 30 million per operator. The folder estimates that between 70 and 100 companies will pay the subsidy.
The MP is in the Attorney General's Office of the National Treasury and will return to the Treasury. Subsequently, precisely to be co-signed by 7 ministries: Finance, Planning, Management, Sports, Tourism, Health and Civil House.
The Treasury expects the text to reach Congress on May 5. A government forecast is to collect around R$ 12 billion per year with a fee for collections and with a recreation of Lotex, which will also be provided for in this PM.
