(Massachusetts).- Massachusetts gaming regulators will hear arguments Thursday morning about whether to bring back roulette, craps and poker to the two casinos that offer the games.

According to a MassLive report, Encore Boston Harbor and MGM Springfield have asked the Massachusetts Gaming Commission to restart the games. When the state’s three casinos were allowed to reopen in early July, regulators did not allow operators to spread those three games.
The meeting between the casinos’ representatives and regulators is scheduled for 10 a.m. through a teleconferencing platform.
Plainridge Park Casino, the third casino in the Bay State, only offers slot machines and does not spread table games of any kind. They were not affected by the guideline and will not be included on the call.
“We appreciate the Gaming Commission’s consideration of our request as we progress through a phased reopening with the health and safety of our employees and guests at the forefront of any decisions,” said MGM officials in a statement.
Encore’s sister casino in Las Vegas still does not have its poker room open for business. That decision, however, was made by executives with the safety of guests in mind. Nevada regulators allowed casinos to spread all other games.
The two Massachusetts casinos specifically asked for the resumption of craps and roulette, but the status of poker rooms is scheduled to be discussed as well.
Given the decision made by Encore Las Vegas, it’s not a given that Wynn Resorts would open its Boston-area poker room. MGM properties around the country, however, have opted to reopen its poker rooms.
