(Ohio).- State Senator Niraj Antani introduced a bill to legalize internet casino gaming, also known as "igaming"
An Ohio state senator introduced a bill Wednesday to legalize internet casino gaming, commonly known as "igaming. This bill aims to expand Ohio’s gaming industry by allowing online casino games such as poker and digital slot machines. The Ohio Casino Control Commission would oversee and license operators to manage these internet-based gaming services.
Sen. Niraj Antani (R-Miamisburg) said the bill requires the Casino Control Commission to contract with casino license holders to provide internet casino gaming to Ohioans.
“As gaming has evolved in our state and we’ve seen massive success with sports betting, it’s now time to legalize igaming in Ohio," Antani said. "Many Ohioans don’t have close access to a casino or racino, but should be able to participate in this entertainment option. It’s time to bring igaming out of the black market, and into the sunshine to provide it safely to all Ohioans."
According to Antani's office, the bill allows the Casino Control Commission to pick vendors, choose which games will be offered and more.
