Paraguay to analyze the games of chance regulation

(Paraguay).- The Committee on Constitutional Affairs of the Chamber of Deputies, chaired by Deputy Derlis Maidana (ANR, HC), organizes today, at 9:00, an inter-institutional working group in order to analyze the bill "Of the games of chance and its regulation".
Last Wednesday, the bill was postponed for eight days. Opposition deputies even asked for a public hearing to analyze the bill. However, the deputy Justo Zacarías Irún (ANR, HC) considered that the project should already be studied.
The meeting will be held today at the VIP room of the Chamber of Deputies. The Vice Minister of the Undersecretariat of State and Taxation (SET), Oscar Ouch; the head of the Secretariat for the Prevention of Money or Property Laundering (Seprelad), Carlos Arregui; the representative of the Paraguayan Chamber of Gambling, Aníbal Salomón; and on behalf of the Paraguayan Association of Gaming Operators, Lorena Rojas.
Along the same lines, the participation is argued by the Union of Workers of Quiniela and Related Games, of Felipe Gómez; and by the Paraguayan Association of Gaming Entrepreneurs, by Adriana Gorchs.
In the private sector they have said that project is disorganized and that it does not consider any substantive issues.
Javier Balbuena, former president of Conajzar and legal advisor in the field, considers that a new law is necessary, since the current data from 1997.
