(Brasilia).- The President of Brazil, Luiz Ignacio “Lula” Da Silva, announced his intention to prohibit digital casinos. During a speech, he emphasized that this measure seeks to protect the population and “prevent parents from indebting their families.”
Within the International Women’s Day, the president stressed that gambling addiction is a significant problem in Brazil. “Another drama affecting Brazilian households is gambling addiction. Although most addicts are men, the burden falls on women — it’s the money for food, rent, school, and children disappearing on a cell phone screen,” Lula stated.
In his speech, he reminded that “casinos are banned in Brazil” and highlighted that “it makes no sense to allow gambling to enter homes, indebting families through cell phones.” This stance reflects his commitment to protecting Brazilian households from the risks posed by online betting.
