Camilla Rosenberg named new head of Swedish Gambling Authority

(Sweden).- The Government of Sweden has named Camilla Rosenberg as the new head of the country’s Gambling Authority. In September 2015, Rosenberg first came to the Swedish Gambling Authority as the operations department head where she was responsible for the Authority’s supervisory and permit activities. Since May 2017, Rosenberg has held the position of Gambling Authorities Director-General.
In accordance with Swedish regulations, the appointment will run for a period of six years, from October 19, 2017, to October 31, 2023.
Ardalan Shekarabi, Minister for Public Administration, said, “We are currently in an important phase for Swedish gambling policy, and I am delighted to be in a position to recruit an experienced and popular Director-General with good experience of the gambling market,” according to the press release.
Prior to coming to coming to the Swedish Gambling Authority, Rosenberg held various management positions at the Swedish Energy Agency, including the most recent as chief legal officer. Rosenberg also previously worked as a tax adviser at the Swedish Gambling Authority.
Also commenting on the appointment, Rosenberg said that she looks forward to leading, along with her colleagues, the major reorganization that is currently necessary at the Authority.
Rosenberg holds a Master of Laws from Uppsala University.
