(Brasilia).- On September 2, representatives from the Ministry of Finance's Prizes and Gambling Secretariat (SPA/MF) met with representatives of the laboratories accredited by the SPA, BMM Testlabs, Gaming Laboratories International - GLI, Gaming Europe, Quinel and ECogra, to discuss the homologation of systems, platforms, live studios and games regulated by the SPA-MF.
The aim was to present the mechanisms needed from the Betting Management System (SIGAP) to continue the process of regulating the sports betting and online gaming sector in Brazil.
The Secretary for Prizes and Betting, Regis Dudena, took part in the meeting along with the Undersecretary for Monitoring and Inspection of the Secretariat for Prizes and Betting, Fábio Macorin, and the Deputy Secretary of the Secretariat for Prizes and Betting, Carolina Yumi de Souza. Serpro's representatives were Ariadne Fonseca and Clony Nunes Abreu Jr., who will be responsible for monitoring the laboratories' certification processes.
The Serpro representatives presented the format for sending data online from sports betting and online gaming platforms and orientated those present on the manual available on the Betting Management System (Sigap) and on the integration API. It was also announced that from 2 October the first mandatory test schedules will be carried out with operators who have already applied for a licence with SIGAP. In December there will be the final round of data transfer tests to validate the entire system for the start of regulated operation from 1 January 2025.
From January 1st 2025, only companies licensed by the Ministry of Finance will be able to continue operating in the country and promoting their services.
