CT Gaming: The future of land-based gaming and the role of CMS in it

(Sofia).- In the following interview, Radoslav Milov, Head of Products CMS for CT Gaming, talks about the future of land-based gaming and the role of Casino Management System in it.

CT Gaming: The future of land-based gaming and the role of CMS in it

Q: When did you join CT Gaming’s team and what was your journey in the company?

RM: My journey with CT Gaming has been quite diverse and enriching. I joined the company in 2012 as a member of the service team. In this role, I had the opportunity to learn the technical aspects of the business and gain hands-on experience with the mechanics of our products.

As the company developed its Casino Management System (CMS), new opportunities arose. Driven by curiosity and a strong interest in this area, I transitioned to the CMS Support team. This position significantly expanded my understanding of the product as I interacted directly with clients, addressing their experiences and resolving their issues.

I spent several years in the support department, where I was promoted to Support Manager, overseeing an entire team. These roles collectively contributed to my comprehensive understanding of the CMS.

Step by step, this journey has led me to my current position as the Head of the System Department. Each role has shaped my expertise and perspective, allowing me to contribute effectively to our ongoing success.

Q: How has the CMS evolved since you first started? How has the Casino Management System (CMS) evolved?

RM: Typically, every CMS begins with three core modules: accounting, payment methods, and jackpots. This was the case with our product when I first joined the team. Over the years, as the industry expanded, the demand for more comprehensive CMS solutions grew, necessitating the development of new modules and additional functions.

Each new module has improved the system's functionality and efficiency, enabling clients to tailor their systems to better manage their venues for both their benefit and their visitors' enjoyment. Since my arrival, the product has developed and grown constantly, and I believe this trend will continue in the coming years.

A pivotal moment for the CMS occurred in 2019 when the balance between online and land-based gaming shares shifted. The land-based CMS had to develop new strategies to keep pace, prompting developers to create innovative modules and functions designed to attract customers. Modules such as ‘Marketing’ and ‘Bonusing’ play key roles in attracting and keeping players in the gaming halls. ‘Marketing’ allows venues to send push notifications and offers to clients, enhancing engagement, while ‘Bonusing’ offers a variety of bonuses, free spins, and additional games that increase the thrill of playing.

In conclusion, there is a significant difference between the average stay in a venue now and twelve years ago, with players staying much longer today. A major part of this change can be attributed to the evolution of casino management systems. These systems have developed to offer clients a wealth of 'extras,' such as additional bonuses, games, and spin-offs, significantly enriching the player experience.

Q: With the advancement of online gaming, how do you see the future development of land-based business and what is the role of CMS in it?

RM: While online and land-based gaming offer similar games and experiences, the major difference lies in player preferences—whether they choose the comfort of playing at home or the vibrant environment of a physical hall.

In my opinion, the advancement of online gaming has undoubtedly transformed the landscape of the gaming industry, but despite its rapid growth the land-based sector remains vital and continues to evolve in response to these changes. Casino Management System (CMS) plays a critical role in this environment. It allows casinos to leverage data analytics for personalized marketing and enhanced customer service. By understanding player preferences and behaviors, casinos can tailor their offerings to meet individual needs, thereby increasing player satisfaction, loyalty, and average stay. Additionally, CMS streamlines processes such as player tracking, financial transactions, and regulatory compliance, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for players and improved profitability for the gaming hall.

The legal field also benefits significantly from CMS. As regulatory requirements become more stringent, CMS helps land-based casinos maintain compliance with local and international laws. These systems provide comprehensive reporting and auditing features, ensuring transparency and adherence to regulatory standards. Furthermore, CMS enhances security by monitoring suspicious activities and protecting sensitive player information.

Looking ahead, I believe the future of land-based gaming will involve incorporating technologies such as AI, VR, and AR. By leveraging CMS for advanced analytics and operations, land-based casinos can stay competitive and relevant in the evolving gaming landscape. For example, integrating AI within a CMS can provide a detailed personalized analysis for each player. By observing and understanding player’s behavior, the system can offer tailored promotions and strategies to retain players in the venue. Moreover, such a system can also be used for internal purposes like analyzing staff performance and behavior, leading to a safer working environment.

In conclusion, while online gaming is rapidly growing, the land-based business is far from obsolete. Instead, it is evolving to offer a unique, enhanced player experience that online platforms cannot fully replicate. The role of CMS in this evolution is crucial, providing the tools needed for personalization, operational efficiency, security, and compliance. By embracing these advancements, land-based casinos can continue to thrive and deliver unparalleled entertainment experiences.
