(City of Buenos Aires).- Monografie authorities confirmed on Saturday, March 18, the death of businessman Giorgio Gennari Litta, one of the pioneers of the gaming industry in Latin America, as manager of the SAGSE Argentina trade show that for more than 30 years has focused on game development in Latin America.
In 1992 Gennari Litta created Monografie, the company through which he organized the traditional SAGSE trade events for the gaming sector in Argentina, Uruguay, Panama and also in the United States, where he held SAGSE Miami for the last two years.
He was born in Milan (Italy) in 1935, and his passion for journalism and the business world appeared very early on, when he created a multilingual guide to European casinos in 1990.
The Cathedrals of the Game - Guide to Casinos in Europe" was the first printed document that showed the importance of the industry in the Old Continent, in terms of legal entertainment offer, investment engine, tax collection, generation of jobs and infrastructure.
His passion as an entrepreneur led him to seek new markets; it was then that he left Europe to discover the incipient Latin American market, and in 1991 he created the first edition of SAGSE in Argentina, an event that took place at the Sheraton Hotel in the city of Buenos Aires.
SAGSE is today a reference at a regional level. In this way, only with a FAX machine, a telephone and great ideas, he organized the first meeting of the casino industry in Latin America, which brought together great businessmen and executives.
The first exhibition gave way to the transfer of its headquarters to the then recently inaugurated Conrad Hotel and Casino in Punta del Este, Uruguay, but as of its third edition, it returned to Argentine soil in search of a larger area, and it was held in Costa Salguero, occupying 6 pavilions and more than 20,000 m2 of exhibition. In 2007, SAGSE became the third most important event in the world, behind ICE London and G2E Las Vegas.
The landing of technology, the growth in the supply of slot machines and the rise of Argentina as an electronic roulette manufacturing industry were some of the milestones that had a prominent place in the halls of SAGSE.
He also created the IOC, a training center for dealers with the support of UNLV, which became the first Educational Program in Latin America and "Training of Trainers", where managers from all over Latin America attended to learn the best practices of their peers.
“Giorgio Gennari Litta developed what we can now call the largest entertainment network and community in Latin America. He is considered one of the most prominent promoters of gaming in the region and, with more than 30 years of experience in the country, SAGSE continues to be the most international exhibition for the industry in Latin America”, highlighted sources of Monografie.
