(Manila).- Melco Resorts (Philippines) Foundation has reinforced its community engagement efforts by donating nearly US$167,000 worth of security equipment and vehicles to the National Capital Region Police Office, in an initiative supported by the Philippine gaming regulator Pagcor.
Supporting Public Safety in Metro Manila
Melco Resorts (Philippines) Foundation Corp (MRP Foundation), the social responsibility arm linked to the City of Dreams Manila integrated resort, has turned over security equipment and service vehicles valued at PHP9.9 million (approximately US$167,657) to the Philippine National Capital Region Police Office (NCR-PO).
According to local media reports, the donation was made with the backing of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor) and is intended to strengthen the police force’s capacity to maintain peace, public order and internal security across Metro Manila.
Industry and Regulator Working Together
Clarence Chung, chairman and president of MRP Foundation, said the initiative reflects the organization’s commitment to public safety and community welfare. He highlighted the importance of supporting law enforcement agencies in carrying out their mandate to protect communities within their jurisdiction.
Chung also acknowledged Pagcor’s role in facilitating the donation, noting that the regulator’s support aligns with the foundation’s broader mission. He emphasized that this collaboration, together with other ongoing initiatives, underscores the group’s contribution to national development.
Part of a Broader CSR Strategy
The latest contribution forms part of MRP Foundation’s wider portfolio of corporate social responsibility programs, which focus on key areas such as environmental protection, education, cultural development and healthcare.
City of Dreams Manila is operated by a subsidiary of Melco Resorts & Entertainment Ltd, a global casino developer and operator, and the foundation’s activities complement the company’s presence in the Philippine gaming market through sustained community investment.
