Paraguay: Gaming collection increased almost 9 % in June 2023

(Asunción).- The president of the National Gaming Commission (Conajzar), María Galván, specified an advance to La Nación/Nación Media on the numbers collected in July by the entity. The collection corresponding to the seventh month of the year was G. 12,549 million (USD 1.70 million).
In this framework, she said that the variation continues with a positive trend of 8.85% in relation to the recommendations of the same period in 2022. Regarding the accumulated amount of the year, from January to July, it adds up to a total of 9.23%. of positive variation.
It should be remembered that in June the total income was G. 12,922 million, with an 11% increase in collection compared to June 2022. In this framework, Galván told La Nación that the positive variations will be registered as the years pass. months, due to the economic rebound expected for this year.
According to the indicators provided by Conajzar for the end of the year, the estimated growth is between 10% and 12%. “We estimate that growth, if these numbers continue to hold up, will be between 10 and 12%. We are fine, calm in the sector, ”she said.
Currently, there are 39 companies that have current contracts in the entity, among them, the ones that contribute the most are sports betting houses, telebingos, casinos and, first of all, the pools. The income and contributions in concept of canon are destined to health, education and sports. Regarding the latter, the president of Conajzar stressed that there is a greater investment in the mental health area since last year.
In this regard, it is also important to mention that the amounts collected by Conajzar are distributed by the Ministry of Finance in accordance with current laws. 50% is sent to the National Sports Secretariat (SND).
