Marco Emilio Hincapié, President of COLJUEGOS, said: “We have presented our progress in regulation. Hincapié's proposal was presented as part of the presentation titled "Where are games of luck and chance going in Colombia and Latin America?", through which the president of the entity announced both the current state of the industry and regulatory challenges. In the same way, the president of Coljuegos reiterated the proposal to form a Latin American commission of regulators, this in order to advance in the regulatory update of the industry, promote responsible gaming and fight against illegal betting in the region. 

“As a result of the summit, we have committed to combating illegal gambling in each of our countries. In addition, we will seek to agree on technological and regulatory strategies that allow us to have regulatory protection in Latin America,” said Hincapié. 

The VII Ibero-American Gaming Summit was held on May 14 and 15 on the island of Puerto Rico. Representatives of regulatory entities and lotteries from countries such as Chile, Portugal, Peru, Ecuador, Paraguay, Panama, among others, participated in the event.
