Sportradar welcomes University of Ljubljana students to New York

As part of the company’s ongoing relationship with the university, which stretches back several years and includes the Innovation Challenge 2017 as well as research projects in the fields of augmented and virtual reality, a group of students from the faculty gained valuable expertise by listening in on presentations from the product development unit on Monday.

Additionally, the students and Sportradar staff discussed the future of digital business and the future sports fan.

The students also learned about innovation in electric mobility and out of the box thinking as part of a tour that saw them visit other companies such as Google, Facebook, Intel and Tesla while meeting Slovenian engineers who have begun their careers Stateside.

Outside the office, they visited a number of educational institutions and natural landmarks across the U.S. and took in the New York Yankees’ MLB clash against Baltimore Orioles at the Yankees Stadium as guests of Sportradar.

Student Aleksandra Krajnović, said: “We’re really appreciative of Sportradar inviting us into their office and giving us such valuable experience in the world of sports technology and what it offers. Hearing from experts in different fields is incredibly useful for us as students as we prepare to begin our careers after graduation.”

Dr. Malte Siegle, Head of Sportradar’s University and Research Program, added: “It was a real pleasure to welcome the students from the University of Ljubljana and we always try to take over the responsibility to guide young professionals on their way.

“Our relationship with the university continues to go from strength to strength and we’re sure those who made the trip across to the New York office will have found it worthwhile and gained an insight into what we do as a company and how we operate.”

Sportradar is a proud supporter of next-gen talent and does so via initiatives such as the Acceleradar programme and the Innovation Challenge.
